Below is a sample of some of the projects which UWC students have made a difference in Africa with GoMakeADifference’s support.

  • CathuloLetibovuNkambeni, Swaziland(2018)

    This project is aimed at helping young women in Swaziland who are unable to attend classes because they are menstruating. Along receiving sanitary wear, they will receive a pair of school shoes to also symbolize a continual journey of education.

  • Keep it FlowingHawane, Swaziland(2018)

    Supplying clean, flowing water in two preschools in Hawane, Swaziland. They have no water supply. Children of the school have to travel far to obtain water which may not be clean. We will install taps and filters for effective and clean water supply.

  • Volleyball RevolutionLuanda, Angola(2018)

    Volleyball Revolution is a sport social project created to maximize the MTA impact on its players’ lives and on Angolan society. MTA players will receive a unique life skill training opportunity to face their life challenges in a revolutionary way.

  • Let’s give them the power!Saponè, Burkina Faso(2018)

    Allowing women specially widows in a rural area and who do not have any activity with a revenue to start local chicken farming on a small scale.

  • Botho ConnectGaborone, Botswana(2018)

    This project aims to connect NGOs in need of assistance with volunteers and possible donors, through an online platform where NGOs can post their requirement for volunteers and donations. It also seeks to encourage a volunteering culture in Botswana.

  • Britain’s Forgotten History: Zimbabwe, UK & Zimbabwe(2018)

    Increase knowledge of Britain's colonial history among British youth through the production and spread of a documentary that explores the long term influences of, and current attitudes towards, the British Empire in Zimbabwe.

  • Skills for Keeps, an Initiative for InnovationLagos, Nigeria(2018)

    This is a technology skill development program for Nigerian youths (ages 10-14) in Lagos. The two main aims are to impart useful and continuous knowledge in IT to improve innovation and also bridge the existing digital and social divide.

  • Give Them Hope (GTH)Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo(2018)

    To help Congolese orphans by giving them hope to make their future, looks better by visiting some place in the country where old orphans did great things and visiting some of those old orphans who have a better life right now to inspire and help them.

  • Vijana Imara – Resilient TeenagersMurang'a County, Kenya(2018)

    Vijana Imara is a project started in 2017 by Shamim and Hannah, that aims to empower girls through education and to conduct discussions on topics that are seen as taboos such as sex, menstruation, consent, gender based violence and HIV/AIDS.

  • Less Tear Drops, More Water DropsJinja, Uganda(2018)

    This project is about providing a sustainable function of clean purified water for 600 families in Jinja, Uganda. The project consists of building a solar water pump that will include a water treatment system.
